The End of Fall Ball & Hill House + Some Fun

Oh my goodness, it was so fun to be with these cute girls at the Era Tour movie. A’s mom bought tickets in the very back row and only one other person was at the  2:40 showing with us so when the song “22” came on and the girls started dancing, we let them dance away. It was so much fun to feel like we had gotten great seats at a concert for a steal of a deal and close to home. Saturday was Hubby’s turn to go to softball while I stayed home with the rest of the kids to give high schoolers rides to or from friend’s houses and to help Michelle bury Marshmallow. Yes, plans changed because it turns out the cemetery won’t let you bury pets in your estate until your property is completely paid off.  So we let Michelle decide between having the rabbit cremated or to bury Marshmallow in the flower bed she had taught him to stay in when he was out of his hutch. Michelle opted for the flower bed, which I thought was a wonderful choice. We dug feet and feet deep and I even got a blister ...

Falling for Fall

Danny finally got to have his hair permed!  After waiting another two weeks for his hair to grow long enough to wrap around the rods, our hairdresser worked so hair to make sure Danny got what he wanted. Hubby purchased and installed a wonderful, huge hammock for us to help fill the empty space on our porch. Maisie keeps looking for Marshmallow but it’s getting down to a glance on her way to going on a walk instead of searching. Pictured here is Natalie finishing up reading The Lightning Thief before school. It feels like fall with chilly mornings and evenings with warmth and sun in the middle of the day. The deciduous trees are beginning to change color and excitement is growing for Halloween to come.  Oh, and I finally finished listening to the book Dune !  I think it took me seven weeks to finish it. Now I’m so ready to watch both of the movies when part two hits the theaters (now delayed until spring due to the writers & actors strike).  Michelle is glad tha...

Bittersweet

Hubby, Michelle and I took a trip to Costco together to ensure she had the half birthday cake she wanted most.  13.5 years old now and as wonderful as ever. Not pictured was all the preparation to get Natalie ready for her next softball games.  The helmet and hoodie I ordered finally arrived but the helmet was large enough to fit Danny so we set off to find the right size in the right color and then Hubby was able to transfer the team stickers to the new helmet. Then the next day we picked up A. and drove to Cheyenne for two softball games while listening to Taylor Swift music for over 90 minutes. It was not cold but it sure was windy so that hoodie arrived just in time. The girls first played against a Laramie team that came to win.  I think it was great experience to need to up their game.  For instance, stealing bases became crucial and Natalie stepped up to the challenge and even got to slide into home. After a lunch from Chick Fil A game 2 was actually against t...

Homecoming ‘23

Homecoming week was even more fun with half of our kids in high school.  For instance, when Kate and Danny went to the powder puff game, Coach Prime (Deion Sanders) was there to watch his niece play.  The high school me was so happy for them!  I told them to enjoy this year of having him around because once his niece graduates in the spring you probably won't see him at your high school again.  Of course knowing he had been there made it even more fun to watch CU beat Nebraska on Saturday afternoon.  But I'm getting ahead of myself.  Friday afternoon I was so grateful to get to help take some of our ssn students out to watch the homecoming parade so that I could see Danny on the basketball float aka trailer.  He had gone with C the day before to help make the signs.  Natalie got to walk over from the elementary school and Michelle, of course, got to watch from the middle school like I did.  That evening I helped with the football game concess...
