Adventures Continue

Believe it or not my son was playing more basketball!  This time his school team participated in a tournament through the CU camp. I love that campus and the venues he got to play in. 🏀  Guess who loves the dog park again after all this time? We have lots of different paths to go on walks near our home but Maisie has chosen to hang out at the local dog park a couple mornings recently. But I still don’t trust her around other dogs so we only go if no one else is there. 😆  When was the last time all 6 of us when to the movies together?  Maybe before Covid?  But How to Train Your Dragon got us all the theater and it was so good!  Thank you, DreamWorks and Universal, for staying true to the story we adore and helping us make new memories. ♥️  Guess who went to her first ever sleep away camp!  We signed Natalie up for the Avid 4 Adventure all girls multi sport camp in Steamboat Springs and she had such a great time.  She received the “Most Likel...

Adventures Begin

Michelle had been saving her money for years. She didn’t know exactly what for, but it turns out she used that money to travel with a group from her high school to Asia!  When people asked me at the end of the school year what I was excited for this summer, the first thing I would think of is Michelle’s trip to Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam!  We loved getting texts and photos almost everyday and were able to FaceTime her a couple times.  She had quite the range of experiences from museums and treasures such as Angkor War to cooking classes and time on the water to learning how to fold flowers for offerings at famous Buddhas, and even hanging out with rats that sniff out landmines to be properly disposed of.  We are absolutely thrilled for her! While Michelle was in Asia, Hubby and Kate worked and Kate hung out with friends doing things like paddle boarding (it is great to hear her work stories!), Natalie and I watched the Women’s College World Series when we weren’...

Adventure Awaits

The end of the school year seemed to come too fast for me this year.  I suppose it didn't feel quite right because I began the school year a month late due to my surgery.  The above photo is from some 8th graders pranking our SRO and it was so funny.  Our SRO through it was hilarious too so I was sure to send him the photo as well.  I will miss the 8th graders so very much, especially the ones I got to take to science class, social studies class, and lunch.  Natalie donated stuffed animals for me to give them as goodbye presents and they even took them to lunch that day.  I am truly lucky that I can work where I do and work part time so that I can show up at my best and still be the wife, mom, and daughter I want to be. That being said, I still completely forgot to take photos before the last day of school!  The thought didn't even cross my mind until I checked Instagram later, no joke.  I did catch a picture of Natalie and some of her friends at ...

Almost Summertime '25

How on Earth did we end up with a weekend with no softball or basketball games?  Mother's Day weekend was insanely unscheduled and you betcha I was lazy as can be.  The one thing on our calendar was to go see Angkor: The Lost Empire of Cambodia exhibit at the DMNS.  Hubby, Michelle, Natalie and I met up with Ms. A and Liz, who will be traveling to Thailand and Cambodia with Michelle this summer.  It was so neat to learn about such an amazing place knowing that half of us were going to get to visit less than a month from now. We followed up our museum visit with Vietnamese food nearby and the restaurant even had doggie bags for Hubby to take the beef bone home to Maisie for us. Between where we parked and our lunch was a really neat motorcycle shop and now my husband is seriously considering taking motorcycle lessons.  I thought about doing the same and buying myself a Vespa (there was a mint green one that was so pretty) but between knowing I only really need a...
