Home and Away (Not the Show)

We got Michelle’s photos back from her photo shoot with her viola!  I love them so much and Rebecca Mabey is truly an artist. I can’t wait to have my other kids take pictures with her too.   Natalie started going to “Dyslexia Base Camp” through the school district. It is Mondays - Thursdays in June but she’ll have an escape in the middle. I was so happy when I picked her up that first day and Natalie reported that her day was better than she thought it would be. They call their teacher Mr. T-Rex (sounds perfect for 10 year olds), Natalie was happy to be learning the cups song in music class, and she really liked the dyslexic kids from high school who help out.  This doesn’t mean she wants to go to summer school instead of playing with her friends but it does mean she’s willing to get out of bed and go in the mornings. Danny’s baseball game an hour away was canceled due to thunderstorms, which meant I got to watch Natalie’s softball game instead of going with A’s family....

A Much Needed Break

No School = Rest + Fun.  We finally watched the Super Mario Brothers movie and we think it lived up to the hype.  It has renewed the neighborhood girls desire to play our Mario Kart & Super Mario Party games again.  Even Hubby and I had a chance to get in on the fun with Natalie when her friends weren't around.  Natalie has been thrilled to have so much time with friends and Kate and Danny seem to be too.  I think we all needed a week just to relax and enjoy life once school was out. We are also managing to get some work done that has been waiting for us to have more time on our hands.  The rabbit hutch is all ready for summer and Maisie is keeping an eye on any wild rabbits going near Marshmallow.  Power washer came out and everything.  We also painted our accent wall and picture frames to go with our new bedding since we had literally wore the old stuff out.  I didn't remember before pictures but everything that was teal is now "Eucalyp...

Last Week of School

After missing three days of school due to illness Natalie was happy to have a few more days with her teacher and classmates.  On Monday she came home from school saying she really wanted to carpool with A after missing softball the week before.  How could I say no? On Tuesday I was lucky enough to have the day off work so I could attend field day.  So much fun to see them laugh. If you don't fall down during the three legged race, is it really a three legged race?  Such a great class of kids with their wonderful teacher. Since our middle school has a habit of celebrating their 8th graders on Wednesday it is expected your 8th grader doesn't show up to school on Thursday.  They would literally be doing nothing.  So, Danny got to be done with school a full day earlier than all his sisters.  So my last day working with my 8th graders (and my little buddy that's moving out of state) was my only son's last day at the middle school as well.  I must admit...
