March & Madness

Looking at my calendar & to do list in March had a tendency to raise my heart rate & breathing! We survived me being the cookie mom! If this is not a big deal to you, let’s just say I spent about 15 hours just getting all the numbers right in the computer and depositing the money. For just that part. It has been hard on our whole family and I have promised to never ever do that again. I was pleasantly surprised that even though I felt like I was neglecting my own daughters in their sales, M was still that top seller in her troop and N sold the second most in her troop. A big thank you to all those who purchased Girl Scout cookies this year!   Now that cookie season is over I am trying to catch up on all the things I didn’t get done while I was working on cookie stuff. Case in point? When I gave A & M a ride home from school they couldn’t help but notice my mini van was dirtier than normal but they were very sweet about it. I do enjoy the car pool C & I have se...

The 2nd Half of February

The day after Valentine’s Day my public school kids had off school so K and D went to a rock climbing camp in the afternoon and N and I ran errands before her beloved soccer class. She had been asking me every day if it was time for soccer again. She is absolutely loving it.   On President’s Day we got to spend time with our beloved friends, the P. Family for the first time in way too long. L also had her niece and nephew with her so we got to meet more members of their family and of course the little girl loved K and couldn’t care less that I existed. K is a toddler magnet and loves them right back. That truly warms my heart. It was such a joy to spend the day together doing things we haven’t done for a long time. Plus, we got to be out of the house on a day that was only 16° out. Certainly feeling like winter around here lately. M had the entire week off school but on Tuesday she wasn’t feeling too well so we were pretty calm and watched some Love Your Garden. Wedne...

First half of February

February started with my co-leader and I picking up thousands of boxes of Girl Scout cookies for the 14 girls in our troop. M was such a great helper getting all of them sorted for the girls to pick up — she and I both skipped lunch we were so busy. In total I spent almost seven hours on cookies just that one day. Since then we have gone around our neighborhood and sold to a few friends. Both M and N are selling for their troops and M is a great teacher and N is an excellent student.  They both really enjoy it. Many of our loyal customers have turned healthy on us so I’m hoping we can still get our 350 boxes sold with not too much trouble. Natalie got to begin the soccer class she wanted to in February. She was so excited. The first day there were 6 boys and 3 girls and she was definitely the tallest out of those 4 and 5 year olds. Parent teacher conferences went so well for all 4 children and I was very pleased. They are all doing just what they should be and their...

Welcome to 2019

The new  year brought some firsts for us. We loved going up to Loveland Laser Tag together before the children started back at school.  We couldn't take pictures while we were have a blast (he he) but here are a couple pictures from the arcade we would play at while we were waiting for the next round of laser tag to begin. M began her horse riding lessons and absolutely loves them. Hubby says he can see her being a stable girl and be willing to work her way to more time riding when she is older. She has wanted lessons for a long time and I am glad she is thrilled with them.  She seems to be a natural. Getting K’s volleyball uniform was pretty exciting but watching them win their very first set was even better. Club volleyball is so much more fun to watch. There were some incredible back and forth moments. Even though they had a hard loss the next game they came back to almost beat the last team they played. When I found out some of the girls on other teams have ...
