Birthdays for M & M

When your daughter comes to you and says she knows what she wants to do for her birthday party but knows it won't be cheap but you understand it's really the only thing she wants to share with her friends to celebrate, you pay for a party outside your home for the very first time.  The horse ranch she goes to camps at was the perfect way to start out being 8 years old for this girl.  We had a fantastic time and couldn't have asked for better service. She loved all her gifts and you could tell her friends really knew her and were thoughtful with their choices.  That night she got to go watch friends perform at the middle school "The Little Mermaid Junior" with her daddy and her little sister while I stayed home with K and D and we watched "Avengers Age of Ultron."   The next day M and our Girl Scout troop hosted a country at the Tour of Nations for the first time and loved learning and sharing about Ireland.  T's dad is from Ireland an...

March Mayhem

There was no better way to start off the month than having us make our oldest two children spit into tubes.  Highly entertaining.  After all those 23AndMe commercials during the Olympics we opted to have the health test done on K and D since we don't have the greatest medical or family history records for them.  If we like the results, maybe the rest of us will all spit into a tube too! Cookie Invasion -- I mean, February 2018

February brought some love.  Love of babies, Chick-Fil-A...  learning to do the human knot at Activity Days and play dates with preschool friends (actually lots of playing with friends for all 4 children)... sweet sisters doing hair, and the cookie invasion!  Thank goodness most of these cases got taken by other members of the troop.  Here is what M decided she would sell this year.  I warned her that I may not have time to help her sell all those, but as it turns out, having an entire week off school during cookie season really helps you reach your goals! GF/DF cookies at Activity Days after learning about service (my turn to plan and carry out), and D's picture from after the Bears raced at the Pinewood Derby.  This year I helped at check in and it was quite fun.  I also roped our neighbors, M & C to be the craftsmanship judges and they were kind enough to forgive me.  (; We were so excited about M's 1st ...
