Welcome to our World

M & N began summer by getting together with friends and creating summer buckets lists.  They are all beautiful and they are both so excited to have plans with friends for when there is no school.  N's hang out also included swimming & a trip to Ziggi’s & pictures sent to me. Danny and his friends have gone camping couple times together and Danny is getting sick of eating hot dogs on the weekend but he is having so much fun.  They also woke up for a morning sunrise and then he came home and went back to sleep.  Summer is good for the soul. With all the camping in May it should be a surprise that our truck now has over 100,000 miles on it.   When it had around 2 miles left we decided to drive to Dairy Queen and hit the milestone as we entered the parking lot and took a video and photo.  Ice cream is such an excellent invention for celebration. M also got to celebrate V's birthday with many of her favorite people and her mom shared this cute photo....

When your oldest child hates the photos you took after her graduation ceremony & you forgot to ask someone to take pictures of the party, the blog post becomes much shorter than planned.  For the record, our family and my parents all got dressed up and went and enjoyed the perfect weather for an outdoor graduation ceremony.  Well, perfect for those of us not wearing a cap and gown.  They could have used a few degrees cooler but most of us were just grateful it wasn't raining for the first time in a week.  We are thankful for the precipitation but so glad the ceremony didn't have to be moved to the gym.  The event was over two hours long and our camping chairs were much more comfortable than bleachers would have been.  Their ceremony was very nice with all the usual things you would expect like a teacher speaking, honors being announced, a student speaker, salute to the armed forces, and everyone getting to walk across that stage, move their tassels, and...

Natalie's team had another tournament the weekend before the last week of school. Since Hubby didn’t get to see Michelle’s last orchestra concert, we had him go with her the first day and I got to take her the second day.  They did wonderfully the first day of pool play, basically slaughtering the competition.  (The coaches said the team will be signing up for A level instead of B level so the girls can play against better teams.)  The next day our team barely lost and were done after one game.  We couldn’t be too sad, though, because the expected storm came in as we were in the parking lot to leave.  After dropping by the outlet mall and grabbing Cane’s on the way home, we felt like the drive had been worth it.  (Natalie loves softball and her team and coaches.  It is always worth the drive.) My parents got to join Hubby in watching Michelle’s last LYS concert and I heard it was amazing. They played Bizet, Dvorak, and Beethoven so not like I was going...

I was so happy to attend Danny’s last track meet in our home town for this season.  He participated in the 4x200, 4x100, and 200m.  The 4x200 team came sooooo close to qualifying for State.  2 hundredths of a second!  .02 was all that stood between them and getting to go. Wow.  I think that’s pretty good considering they only ran that relay a handful of times together. Danny had his physics fair the same day as the track meet.  This end of year project is set to be a huge portion of this semester’s grade and he wanted to do really well.  Kate helped with the title and Hubby was there for science support and fixed the printer for him.  Danny dropped off salsa for Spanish class at school, went to the meet, came home for lunch, and went back to school with trifold in hand.  It was a busy day for him and he was set to run the 4x200 again the next day to try to get that spot at State.  Spoiler, they did not get a new season’s best so the seas...

Michelle finished up her tennis season with an all day tournament that she drove herself to at 6:45am.  Thanks for getting a driver's license, Michelle.  lol She played seven matches and between track and softball, Hubby and I were only able to watch one of them.  We apparently are a distraction but they were able to win the tie breaker even with us watching.  She misses tennis already and is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful group. I hitched a ride with Danny to his track meet the same day.  I got to watch both his relays (100 & 200) and his 100m and Hubby got to watch his last relay.  In their 4x200 relay they came in with a time of 1:30.16, a new season's best for the team.  In the 4x100 relay they came in at 43.29, taking 3rd place.  All the boys on the relay team also "earned All-Conference."  I knew that was good but I had to look up what it meant.  Danny also got a new PR of 11.69 seconds.  By ...
