Prom Has Come & Gone

My dad and I got to watch Natalie participate in the 110 hurdles, 100m, 4x200m and the long jump.  She wasn’t happy with her results but we sure were happy to be there and proud of her effort. Danny finally tried the 200m and did well with a time of 23.35 seconds.  He is excited for the meet next week, where if he can shave off half a second he will qualify for regionals.  Danny was also part of the 4x100 and they too have high hopes for next week. Most of my family participated in Prom in different ways this year.  Michelle’s leadership class was in charge of planning and working Prom, where she even got to serve Kate a dirty soda.  I love that this Utah trend of nonalcoholic beverages has finally reached the next state over and that the year Michelle was helping with Prom she had a sibling there.  I helped out at After Prom from 9pm to a little after midnight, when Michelle and the other SCLA students got back from the Prom venue.  It was fun to feel...

4 Teenagers

I have been terrible at taking pictures lately!  My one and only photo, even though we had a lovely dinner with my parents and an Easter egg hunt in the backyard, was from the breakfast treats Hubby and I made.  That's it. Then, I forgot to take pictures on Natalie's actual birthday because we were so busy trying to make it a special day even though she had school and track practice.  We had even talked about recreating a picture from her 1st birthday party with all the children since they are four teenagers now.  But we didn't!  Natalie was kind enough to do a bit of a recreation the next morning before school with the dessert she wanted instead of cake and the birthday crown her friend gave her.  What a good sport.  Speaking of sports, I do have pictures from some of those! But first, on Easter my mom told me a lovely story about when they lived in Huron, SD.  Before my mother was born, my grandparents built a house in a new neighborhood and pur...

Sporty Spring & Sweet 16

I am amazed at how quickly our flowers and trees have bloomed this year.  It usually doesn't look and feel like this until Mother's Day.  Danny was actually very worried that he was going to melt at his first track meet of the season but luckily it was a spring like day instead of a summer like one.  I didn't plan ahead so didn't switch days with my coworker and missed it, but Danny has a new personal time in the100m of 12.04 after only being able to go to practice a few times.  He is excited to really give track some effort this year and see if he can get below 12 seconds. Michelle had two tennis matches two days in a row.  The first match got cut off due to weather so although she and her partner were winning, it isn't official unless they play to eight and win by two.  But, as her parents, it's a win in Hubby and my book.  The next day the weather was gorgeous and she was nervous because the school they were playing is great at tennis but she and El...

Our Final Orlando Theme Park Vacation

We have been planning to visit Epic Universe for YEARS and the time finally came!  But first we had to make a few adjustments like renting a wheelchair and switching our Blue Springs State Park/rest day because our flight got delayed almost 2 hours so we didn’t get settled until 1:30am, Michelle came down ill and there was lightning in the forecast. 3 strikes and we were out! So first up was trying to find Manatees at BSSP… and failing. But it was beautiful place and I bet those sea cows were back the next day. We also enjoyed eating at Ford’s Garage & were impressed by Hubby’s ability to drive in one heck of a thunderstorm. The next day was our one and only Disney day and there was one and one reason only we picked Magic Kingdom: TRON!  We were so excited when the ride for Walt Disney Works was announced in 2017 and couldn’t believe it took us almost 10 years to ride the thing and we were not disappointed.  Just look at that ride photo that automatically connected to...
