All Done April

Kate hardly ever posts on Instagram so imagine how happy I was to see this beautiful photo of her pop up on my social media!  I was also happy to sneak this picture of our family playing Hues and Cues with her friend, W.  I was grateful Natalie’s softball game was canceled due to weather so that we could be together on a school night to do nothing.   Since you can’t tell who he is, I felt like it was ok to take & post this photo of one of our students after completing an activity one of the other paras, R, planned and carried out that was a huge hit.  They used “foam clay” to decorate Korean masks and it was seriously the best.  I have truly enjoyed getting to know R better this school year and am grateful for her and what she does! Backtrack to Wednesday: After work and school Hubby, Natalie, and I cheered on Danny and his team at his baseball game.  The weather had been great all day and then about 15 minutes after the game began, it started to get cl...

Celebrating & Sports

We had so much fun celebrating Natalie turning 11 years old.  Since her birthday was on a school day this year, we opted to have cake and presents on the Sunday before.  Natalie helped me bake the cake and she finished off the decorating all by herself.  I think her polar bear turned out great!  Below you will see my attempt to capture the moment of us playing the game Michelle picked out as a present for Natalie: Hues and Cues.  It’s pretty fun and brought all of us together.  Kate’s “Oldies” playlist really added too.  I had to laugh because some of her oldies are from Brittany Spears and Avril Lavigne but that actually tracks because those songs came out over 20 years ago.  Now I know how my parents must of felt when I listened to songs from their lifetime as “Oldies” when I was in high school. The day after Natalie’s birthday found her playing in her first regular season game. She did great playing center and shortstop. She’s still holdi...

Happy Easter!

We got home late Friday night but my softball and baseball players were able to hit the fields on Saturday.  Natalie had her first tournament of the spring season called “Bunny Hop.”  One of her teammates had a birthday as well and got everyone rabbit ears and cupcakes.  It was good for the girls to be back to playing real games after the winter and it let the coach see exactly what they need to work on.  The next weekend Hubby was asked to get Natalie a 1st base glove because there are going to try her out there.  She had mom, dad, brother & brother’s first base playing best friend all at the store helping her pick out a new glove. Danny was the only one that got sunburned in the Bahamas but I got sunburned watching his double header the day after we got home and Natalie got sunburned playing softball.  Danny had some good hits and I’m so glad I got a picture of the one his coach called his best swing of the day.  He also played first base ...
