Father's Day weekend meant another baseball tournament (and getting to play against friends) while Hubby and the other team dads got special team "baseball dad" shirts to wear. It's not very often both of us get to watch the games together and we were so happy to be there. On Father's Day we girls made cupcakes to celebrate Father's Day for ourselves, for a neighbor experiencing this holiday for the first time since her dad's passing, and to give to new neighbors we knew years ago. So grateful for this volleyball, baseball, dance and softball dad!

Turns out if Grandma and Grandpa get enough bindweed in their artificial turf, you can roll it up like the biggest, greenest burrito you've ever seen to haul it away!
Our local school district put on a Introduction to Automotive Technology camp that Danny and Zachary went to and loved. They were so sad when I said it was only that one week! They spend 2.5 hours for 4 mornings working hands on with brakes, spark plugs, engines, and doing all sorts of things I've never done. It was so fun to see how excited they were to get dropped off and how happy they were when I picked them up. We will definitely keep an eye out for more camps like this next summer!
Speaking of camps, Michelle returned to KIWA once again! The numbers were fewer and there were still some Covid precautions in place but the girls were so happy to be back at Girl Scout day camp in person. She had a very full 5 days away and came home tired and happy to be back to doing something so normal.

Speaking of "normal," if you want to feel that way just go to Elitch Gardens. Zero face masks and zero social distancing. Something to get used to and seriously, did we learn nothing from the last year? lol. No one wanted me to take their picture but I did get this great one of Kate, Ava, and Danny on the Tower of Doom and snuck this one of Natalie as we were about to leave. *insert evil laugh here* Also that week I got to take Kate and Ava to a volleyball clinic at Norco. I treated myself to Menchie's and watched the movie Luca on my iPad while I waited for them. It was hot, but totally wonderful to have nothing to do for two hours. And now I know what Michelle and Natalie are talking about when they reference Luca since when they had Anna over to watch it the first day it was on Disney+ I was not invited. They are growing up so fast!
In a side note, Hubby was able to sell off our camping trailer for even more than the asking price. He and Michelle worked hard to get it out of storage and ready and I just tried not to cry. So many happy memories but my children have gotten too busy with other things like sports we just don't use it anymore. Or, in the case of Memorial Day weekend, we are going to places that the trailer doesn't work well for anyway. Another sign we are moving into a different stage of parenting now. *sniff* I hope the next family enjoys it as much or even more than we did. P.S. Michelle earned 1% of the selling price, which she is saving to buy a Go Pro before our next big vacation.
Ok, this is sad but I couldn't end this post without paying a small tribute to Faye Story Mandel. Back in the 1980s this wonderful woman from Florida came to North Dakota as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was the inspiration behind me wanting to serve a mission since I was a little girl and I am so grateful to her for it. Faye lost her battle with Covid at 59 years old, leaving behind a husband and two children with special medical needs who must now grieve someone who truly embodied the pure love of Christ. It was an honor to watch her funeral in Florida via Zoom and hear stories I hadn't heard before but also hear that I was not the only one who thought so much of Faye.
