Boy, have we got a story for you. N's baby blessing will certainly go down in the books as being the most memorable of all her siblings due to a little drama we now call a miracle.

This baby ring has been in my mother's family for 103 years. Since Natalie filled her diaper right before it was time to go up for the blessing, Dan took her straight to the bathroom to change her. A minute later Michelle needed to use the restroom so I left Kaelah in the chapel with Aunt Stacie to help her. When she was done we saw Dan in the hallway, where we traded and I went to the mother's lounge to feed the baby. There I noticed the ring was gone! I checked the dress and my clothes and the room, the hallways and started to panic. When Sacrament meeting was over our family helped us look all over, including the chapel. Dan checked the car seat and even went home to look in the garage and in the house. I felt terrible. Of course my mother was very kind and said, "100 years from now it won't matter." I replied, "It lasted 100 years before I got ahold of it!"
My mother asked the Relief Society President to announce during
opening exercises that we were looking for a small brass baby ring that might seem like nothing on first glance but was a family heirloom. When Shelley announced it there was a huge collective gasp in the room. About 10 minutes later Bryce H handed me the ring. The teacher, Valerie R saw it and announced the ring had been found and I proclaimed, "I believe in miracles!" Yes, irreverent was what I was in RS the day Natalie was blessed.
N needed her diaper changed an fed again, so I left, but my mom was able to talk to Sister H about how she found the ring. Here's the story: when the ring dropped in the walkway of the chapel she saw a reflection of light from where she was sitting but didn't think anything of it. Then, when Shelley made the announcement, she thought she better go see if that was the ring. Even though the other ward (Congregation) was having their Sacrament meeting, Sister H slipped into the pew she was sitting in and started to look in the direction she had seen the light. She said it was really hard to see b/c it blended in with the carpet, but she found it. Hooray!
The most important part of the day, though, was the blessing itself. Daddy said N was so happy during the blessing and gave him a big smile when he finished. He thinks she knew just what was going on. President Richards happened to be visiting our ward that day so he was in the circle and even talked about the blessing during his time to talk and what was said about aligning our to God's. There was such a wonderful spirit present and I simply felt happy and thrilled for our baby girl. I feel blessed daily to have her in our home. I never could have imagined how much joy the presence of a baby could bring to the older siblings as well. This is the first time any of them have really been old enough to understand what was happening. Danny and Kaelah are both ready to start praying for a little boy baby for next year, but Dan and I are pretty good at telling them to wait. (:
Natalie was blessed the day she was because Dan's sister, Stacie, and our niece, Addy, got to fly out for the special occasion. She and the W. family were our out of town guests we had over for lunch (along with my parents) and took them to see our new house. Don't get me started on all the things that have had to be redone or how quickly the houses that started after ours have caught up to it!
On Memorial day Dan, Stacie, and Addy got to see Toyota elephant passage for the first time. This was only my second time there, but I just can't say enough about how much better life is for the pachyderms now.
Even Natalie liked being by the elephant house.
Can't wait until our next visit! Thanks for flying out, Stacie & Addy! Thanks for driving from Wyoming, W. And a big thanks to my parents, who provided N's apparel, ring and all.
