Happy Birthday to you!

Kate’s half birthday found me shopping at Costco for the first time in over two months.  I bet you can guess where I bought her cake to celebrate at.  (Although she had four friends over to help her celebrate, this is the one photo she would let me take.  Lol.) We had so much on our shopping list that I ended up filling up a cart, paying, putting stuff in the back of the car and then going in all over again.  I spent about two hours there and headed straight to pick up Michelle at her District Honors Orchestra practice.  Due to the snow day they were only together twice before their concert that night but they were at a high school together from 8:30am - 2pm so I think they got lots of practice in.  Michelle had a blast participating and the concert went so well.  Very impressive.  It was fun to see friends we haven’t seen for a while there too!  This photo is part of Michelle’s fan club.  A & L H (not pictured) brought her a rose! ...

MLK Weekend

Kate and Hubby got to go to the first out of state volleyball tournament of the year, this time to Kansas City.  Their head coach said he was very proud of them all for never giving up while playing on a brand new team in their first tourney of the season.  It sounds like these girls played against some very talented teams but had a great time.  Kate came home exhausted but happy and I think they are looking forward to the first local tournament next weekend. Meanwhile at home the four of us journeyed to Sheel's & Michelle's favorite restaurant.  Turns out me putting away the Christmas decorations saved us almost $700!  We had purchased me a really nice coat for Christmas but it turned out the zipper didn't work right.  I figured I would just deal with it since I didn't know where the receipt was and was so happy when I found it while spending hours putting away the Christmas decorations.  Imagine my surprise when I carefully looked at that piece o...

We Will See In 2023

New Year's Day meant epic games with double the Quirkle downstairs and Axis & Allies upstairs. We also go to meet A & E's puppy, JoJo.  He is soooo cute AND quiet.  We may have gotten dog envy. Monday was the grand finale.  We visited Great Grandma with S & T's family and then watched the Utes play in the Rose Bowl at S & T's house where we had delicious pizza and S tried to convert us to Stanley brand drink containers.  lol. S & T's house it right down the street from where Danny was sealed to us and he was kind enough to let me take a selfie with him -- can you spot the temple in the background?  How I love the promise that familial love is forever.  Love is what makes the world go round!  The only picture I took inside the house was of how much their dog loved Kate even though he really didn't want anything to do with the rest of us.  Ha! I am grateful we had such a wonderful trip to see family.  On the way home Hubby f...

Family Fun & Farewell 2022

What did we do instead of spend thousands of dollars on a trip to Hawaii?  Visit Hubby's family!  Well, most of us did.  Between the migraines she had been experiencing and the 14 hours it took us to get to Utah last winter, Michelle decided to stay home with my parents at their house instead of coming with us. She had plenty of quiet time to read books and got to watch Stranger Things and help take care of Piper and Maisie. My parents were so happy to have her for the week! Our drive out took almost half as long as last year thanks to their not being a huge storm this time. Trust me, Hubby and I were watching the weather like a hawk. We realized we could drive out Tuesday or Wednesday and both would be ok so we spent Tuesday with me getting my first ever mammogram, going to Janet Jones’ funeral, and getting ready for our trip. The sudden passing of Janet was devastating. I had talked with her and given her a hug at Pat’s funeral and Janet seemed great!  My main pur...
