The last weekend of the school year was also the end of rec center volleyball.  It was such a joy to watch this undefeated team win yet again.  (I actually felt sorry for the opposing team.) Afterwards there were donuts & gifts, photos & laughs + gratitude for this opportunity.  The night before these guys also beat their parents (Hubby included) during the last half of their last practice.  While Kate chose to stay with A & P to exercise, Hubby and I went home to check on the rest of our children, take the dog to the groomer, drop Danny & J off at the rec center while picking up K, taking Michelle and Natalie to the dance studio for Michelle’s recital photos and purchase gifts for teachers.  I thought it was so sweet M & N still love their teachers and want to buy them things and it was fun going around town with them for very specific presents.  By the time we were done it was time to pick up Maisie from the groomer and the boys from t...

 The last couple weeks of school felt like crawling to the finish line at the end of a long race but with lots of great things to celebrate and wonderful memories made.  One such memory was watching my son hit a solo home run his first time up to bat (to tie the game 2-2) and then hitting a triple his second and final time at the plate.  I didn't have the camera out for the home run so I left the camera set aside the entire game (didn't want to jinx anything) but did ask to take a picture before we left the field to mark that great game where the Vibes won 4-3. The very next night found us hopeful for another great game. Sadly, Danny hurt his arm during warm ups so didn’t play any defense. He still hit pretty well but the other team had some great outfielders. It was a good game in that the back and forth was very intense.  It ended with the other team’s pitcher getting our last three hitters out with nine curve balls in a row for us to loose 6-7.  We finished April with running errands, a 3v3 basketball tournament for our boy (so fun even though Danny wasn’t fully recovered from his last cold), yard work (including finally replacing our dead ash tree), and our first date night at Swaylo’s.  Although I know most of my kids are old enough to babysit, a big thank you to my mom for coming over to be with them while we got to eat delicious food and virgin cocktails in a great environment.  May Day was full of Church, opening day for softball, and and a double header for baseball.  I accidentally totally confused my Primary class but they should all know how to draw a Star of David now. Good skill for studying the Old Testament this year, right?  Please tell me I’m right. Lol. Play volleyball: The club volleyball team headed to the east coast together to play in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.  I really really wanted to go with Kate & Hubby and the team but looking at the calendar made me feel like there was just too much going on at home to get away.  That first night some of the girls got to try out sand volleyball while they waited for their food to be ready at a restaurant.  Seemed like a great start to the trip to me!  They played their matches well and had plenty of time to hang out together as a team.  Sounds like great memories were made with both lots of hard work and plenty of laughs.  I am so grateful for the wonderful players, coaches, and parents that were involved with this team.  I am sad to see the season end but I have hope for next year!
