Summer fun with friends

We had a great time with the P and T families at the DMNandS!  At first I thought K was even taller than I realized, until I saw she was standing on the railing too.  I wouldn't be surprised if she is that tall by next summer, though!  This trip was our first time doing an experiment in the health exhibit.  D chose to do "Battle Bacteria."  It was great and I loved helping these 3 and M participate.  Lesson learned: don't buy antibacterial hand soap!  All you're doing is help create super bugs! I love it when we have "linger longers" at church.  It's when there is a potluck after church on a 5th Sunday of the month.  Most families forgot this time, so we had a huge dinner table and the children were such good helpers getting it ready.    We also had a blast another Sunday with the families of the primary presidency at the president's house.  Check out the look on N's...

Good bye, school!

We are nothing but impressed with our school's wonderful principal, Mrs. V.  Although I am sad to see her retiring, I am glad we got to have her has our principal for the first half of K's elementary school years.  (Picture taken at the retirement party, where we also had K's friend with us before she came home for a play date.)  Field Day! N and I went back and forth watching the children participate in the fun activities.  I am so glad the weather cooperated this year!  D is a natural at the 3-legged race and I thought it was neat to watch K's teacher doing the long jump with them. K was all smiles about it. My 6-year-olds happy to see each other on field day.  (:  Dance party!  M and J were front and center and dancing the entire time.  I was impressed!  Wanting to make field day last a little longer and allow N to participate, we pulled out the potato sacks my mother had purchased for us. ...

fun times in May

D enjoyed 100 mile club and was happy to help his friend, B, celebrate earning his 100 miles.  The kids had their last Chilaxed Kids class before summer.  I wonder how much yoga will be done in the next 3 months?  My prediction is M and N will do lots and K and D won't do an until the next session of Chilaxed Kids begins.  End of year movie party at our house!  Our next activity will be camping in July.  We've also decided to have the meetings at my house next year instead of the school art room and the girls are pumped.  One girl was thinking of quitting and when she heard the meetings would be here instead, she changed her mind!  Captain America: Civil War!  I was more excited to see it than I would like to admit.  My thoughtful husband bought me a Rock Star to make sure I could stay awake past midnight, but I don't think I needed it -- I had been waiting to see this since Winter Soldier came out.  (;  Here...

Spring spring, random spring

Playing "police" -- inspired by the movie Zootopia  N learned how to ride on a scooter!  Poor dog got stung twice by a wasp.  You can see here her leg swelled to almost twice the size of the other.  After a few doses of Benadryl, as instructed by the vet, her limp disappeared.  Eventually she was all better.  Poor girl.  M earned her black belt in Judo Math for subtraction...  And enjoys the smells of blossoms... M now rides a 20" bike!  She is so happy to be able to go very fast now.  It literally took half the amount of time to get to school after switching to the new bike.  There weren't a whole lot of nice weather days in May, but when there was, we made sure to take advantage of it!  This day we met friends at the park, where there happened to be a Shih Tzu puppy ALL the children at the park fell in love with.  N is looking forward to having K home more often during the summer...
