My last post ended up being way too long so I'll overcorrect by giving you one week's worth of photos this time. First up: Danny's first official games of the high school season. I was thrilled I didn't have to work that day so I could get there before the JV game began. It is interesting to see how they play a little differently with mostly new players on their team. The varsity team is the JV team from last year plus a couple freshmen, one of whom is swinging up like Danny. The boys who are swinging up are promised lost of JV play time but have to wait and see and cheer on the Varsity players during those games.
While Danny was playing in the JV game my coworker, Coach T, was kind enough to send me a couple videos of Natalie playing in her first ever intramural basketball game. How I wished I could be in two places at once. Natalie was so sweet about it and let me know there was one other girl who didn't have parents there either. Michelle says next time she can represent if a similar circumstance happens again. Why didn't I think of that sooner? I hadn't even told Michelle about the games. Whoops.
Danny got to miss school and travel with the varsity team to an invitational tournament in Pueblo Thursday - Saturday. They had their own school district bus driver the entire weekend and stayed in a nice hotel and ate good food. Danny said the Pueblo Aircraft Museum was really neat and that the people who worked there were so glad to have a large group come visit.
Moving on from basketball, we have puppy snuggles one morning by the Christmas tree plus roller blading and doing Chinese jump rope at Activity Days. I was so proud of C for trying something new I had to take a photo! I may or may not have said yes when she asked if I would give her pillar tickets to use at the school store the next day I was working.
On Saturday, after she volunteered all morning at the Ugly Sweater Run, Hubby, my parents, and I got to watch Michelle (and other kids I adore) perform in their Winter Gala. This is where the choir, band, and orchestra come together to put on a big show to earn money for their programs. I loved seeing how happy my dad was to watch her play in the hallway during intermission. This production is HUGE and takes so much work (and lasts 3 hours long). We, however, got to go home but Michelle stayed for their second and final performance that evening. Fun fact: this was the first concert for Michelle's new viola.
