Halloween Ready

I stole this cute picture from the the dance studio’s Instagram stories.  Michelle got to hang out with dance teammates before heading to Terror in the Corn with friends and it sounds like it was quite the fun day.  Then she was willing to go back to the studio the next day to help put down new tape on the studio floors and clean.  I showed up too and did things like clean the bathrooms which was a tad disgusting but very satisfying because it was obvious someone cared enough to clean them up.         Kate finished out her first high school volleyball season even though she was fighting off a cough.  The day after their last game she finally let herself rest by staying home from school for a day.  I am so darn proud of her!  Now she has a lot more free time after school and she spent her first day without volleyball practice doing a photo shoot with her friend C and I am totally in love with the results.  Autumn has been absolutely ...

Wake Me Up

I have never been so relieved for the calendar to be October 1st. Natalie and I ate breakfast together while watching Hocus Pocus 2 on my iPad before heading to her softball games. It was a perfect fall morning and Natalie’s team played the best I have ever seen them play. It was an easy win. She had an hour in between games so she got chicken nuggets from Wendy’s and we went to ARC Thrift Store to see if there was any good Halloween stuff. I did kind of feel bad cheering for the Hurricanes after what hurricane Ian did to Florida this week so I only cheered by using their mascot once in two games. Lol. The next morning we listened to General Conference after baking cinnamon rolls and brownies.  It was fun to see how excited Natalie was to help me make treats and watch Chu...

Enough for a country song?

The next Friday all of us except Kate were watching Thor Love and Thunder in the basement. (So fun, by the way. Exceeded my expectations.) Right after the movie finished Kate started yelling that there was water coming out of the ceiling. She and A & J had come home and the area by our front door was dripping. Turns out that the master suite toilet had filled and filled and filled for hours just like the Jack and Jill bathroom had about five years ago. Hubby and I jumped into action turning off the water at that toilet and me starting to mop up water while Hubby did things like drill holes in the ceiling to let water out and removing the dry wall and insulation where (luckily) most of the water had gone out to the garage. Way easier to deal with water damage out there. Hubby got up on a ladder, cut out the drywall and removed the wet insulation. Hubby bought a new wet vac, industrial fan, and mold preventer at Home Depot as well. We had so many fans going and let everything dry ou...
