My oldest and youngest daughters have very big transitions to make this year and are doing well. N is adjusting from half day kindergarten to full day first grade but loves her teacher and has many good friends in her class from preschool, church and kindergarten. We had to suppress happy dancing in public at back to school night when we realized how many people she knew.
K began middle school!!! I am so proud of her for taking good care of her school iPad, getting homework done, and walking with her best friend and being early everyday. Back to school night allowed me to meet all her teachers and see what her schedule and curriculum is like and it's pretty obvious they already like her.
D finally gets to have a guy teacher, which he was hoping for and he has been a real champ about the crutches at school. I can tell D is enjoying 5th grade because when I had to pull him out to get his cast off and fitted for his boot he was willing to go back for another 4 hours before I picked him up again. The day after Labor Day we (D, N, and I) were able to scoot our way to the elementary school with D being in a boot instead of in a cast with his crutches. It is glorious to enjoy the wonderful weather this time of year and be able to say hello to children and parents we know instead of sitting in a car waiting for a good parking spot and dealing with the traffic. The ankle seems to be healing well and there have been no tears since getting the boot. We are looking forward to another week or two in the boot and then moving on to a soft brace from there. I am grateful for excellent orthopedic staff to help us along in the process and that I chose to be a stay at home mom so it’s no big deal at all to take him to his appointments.

M is happy to have one more year at the Waldorf school. This will be her second year having Ms. E as a teacher and even though a few of the children are no longer attending the school, there is only one new child so the class feels much the same but calmer. M is already excited that her class gets to go on an overnighter next month!
I got to celebrate my birthday with my family and parents at Red Robin and I got my first Apple Watch. I love it so much I reassured my husband that I love him even more than all my Apple products put together. He did so much around the house on my birthday! The annual Stake Carnival was also on my birthday, where when people wished me a happy birthday I welcomed them to my party the stake put on for me. lol. We had 6 children with us but my youngest child was the only one I was able to get a picture of (unless you count M's new Converse shoes in the photo). Later I went up to Cafe Athens to eat lunch with my birthday twin and talk for hours. One of the perks of having all our children in school full day now!
Originally I was going to take my cello player and my viola player to see The Piano Guys at Red Rocks but with D's crutches and all the stairs, N got to use his ticket. It was a wonderful concert to take them to -- so inspiring -- but boy, was my first grader tired when she got home!
Our Girl Scout troop will be meeting monthly now (part of keeping the troop alive and my sanity) and our August meeting was a service project making sewing kits for The Inn Between. I have yet to finish them, deliver them, or clean up the basement but I have finished 4 scrapbooks this month while the puppies were sleeping. They are certainly helping me close all my rings on my new watch!
Here the puppies are wondering what on earth happened to N when she dressed up and pretended to be a cat for a while. lol. These beloved dogs of mine are clowns!
Just one final picture for now. I just want to give a shout out to my husband, who works full time, is there for us when we need him, volunteers at Church (including some early morning Sunday meetings), helps me with things like cleaning out the rabbit hutch on weekends, and listens to me talk way too much about the "Better Than Happy" podcast that is literally changing my life for the better. I love him so much and feel very lucky that he's mine!
