M's track meets are more chaotic than I expected, but when you come home with ribbons like she does, who cares?    She was thrilled to come in second place for the long jump (her favorite event) and won a first place ribbon for participating in the shuttle relay.    That same day K got to hang out with her troop on Main Street and go shopping.    She loved it and came home with a beautiful necklace before we fed the missionaries and had her 3rd grade teacher's daughter babysit while Hubby and I finally got to watch the last Jason Bourne movie in the basement we have been meaning to watch for months.    We watched the other 4 Bourne movies in preparation and it felt so good to feel like we had accomplished one of our summer goals.    Lol. On Thursday  D, M and I set off for Resident Family Camp at Jack Nicol's Cub Scout Camp, part of Ben Delatour Scout Ranch.    N was too young to participate, K didn't want to go, and Hubby had to work.    So my mother came to the rescue and watched K and N while Hubby was at work, including taking K to her swim lessons.    While we were off hiking, sleeping in platform tents, learning to tie ropes, participating in flag ceremonies and campfires, and lots and lots of shooting sports, the other half of the family had fun playing and Hubby took the girls to Brainard Lake  on Saturday .    A great time was had by all and the children liked getting a break from each other.    Having 2 children is easy compared to 4!!!    I know D and M are already looking forward to returning next summer to the peace and happiness they felt there next summer.    Maybe it's because I bought them Skittles at the trading post for M...

Independence Day meant hanging out at the church for the ward breakfast, cleaning the house in the afternoon, having my parents over for dinner, and lots of fireworks at our house and then watching the city ones from the sledding hill.    D said he wished it was the 4th of July every day!   D, M and N went to a bike rodeo put on by the city while my mom took K to swimming July 5th.    They received bike maps of the city, free bells on their bikes, and little led lights.    D loved the bike obstacle courses and was determined to beat the record on the hardest one and did it over and over again until he did.    M hated it and N refused to even try.    When I told Hubby that he wasn't too surprised.    My children are quite entertaining in their differences!
