March Moments

Happy Palm Sunday!  This was one of the last Sundays we were stuck being in the lobby during Sacrament meeting because we were late.  We've finally figured out what time to set the alarm clock for and it helps so much N loves nursery and is so excited to get her own shoes on for us.  Since so many of our neighbors were going to be out of town for Easter Sunday (including us) we had our annual Easter egg hunt in the pocket park on Palm Sunday this year.  A wonderful time was had by all and my children were so grateful they didn't have to miss it after all.  I apologize I didn't get great pictures.

These two sisters.  It is so fun to see them wearing matching outfits K and M used to wear together.  I just love the smile N is giving M in this picture.  It should be interesting to see how N gets used to having M also go to school every day like K and D do next year.  I hope she doesn't get bored!

This is perfection right here.  N at her friend's birthday party, sitting in a Cozy Coupe watching her favorite movie while holding onto a balloon directly before eating cupcakes.  Life is certainly good sometimes.
Sledding by the house means maneuvering a ditch going back and forth from the hill.  One of the perks of a Waldorf preschool is that M can climb around like a champion now.  I'm so happy about all the progress her gross motor skills have made this year.
In February we were so sad to see there wasn't a Valentine's Day dance announced by the stake.  So when we heard it had been moved to March this year we were so excited to go.  I was still super tired from being sick but there was no way I was going to miss one of the best dates of the year!
K and M have been enjoying their dance class at the M. family's house and I have enjoyed watching them pick out all sorts of different outfits that still match.
Park day!  I love how our state manages to give us nice weather breaks right when we need them.
Poor K was sick this night and had to stay home with dad and the baby, but D, M, and I had a wonderful time watching Emma play the role of Maria in the Sound of Music for her high school musical.  We have known her since before K was born and still have a onsie she decorated when she heard that K was coming into our family soon.  Emma did a fantastic job and the children really fell in love with the musical.  They had never seen the Nazi part before so they were a bit confused.  lol.
Home improvement:  adding color!  D spent a Saturday doing this for me and I am so grateful to have a color other than tan somewhere on the main floor of my house!  Thanks, hon!  Looks just like I hired a professional.
I just love my St. Patrick's Day family.  Mrs. C. totally convinced K last year and D this year that leprechauns totally exist and it was so fun to see M delight in helping D with his leprechaun trap.  I have a cute video of D telling me that if he caught a leprechaun he would "ask for a brother, fireworks, and a spider man costume that I can shoot webs and I can stick to the ceiling."  Gotta love this holiday!

Homecoming 2025

The tail end of summer has been so much fun.  The weather has been fantastic and we've all had special occasions to look forward to.  First up, a family party for Natalie's softball team that included pizza, whiffle ball, and seeing the girls just have a good time together as a team. Here's my favorite photo from when Michelle helped her friend, A, celebrate her 16th birthday.  Although she has been friends with A & Z since her time at the Waldorf school, Michelle ended up hanging out with a lot of strangers and had a wonderful time.  I love seeing her branch out and make new connections while maintaining her core friend group. Homecoming week included a BBQ, Powder Puff game and drone show, parade past the middle school where I was volunteering at the Rattler Run, plus a very exciting football game that even Hubby attended by being one of the basketball parents to man the concession stand. Danny did a great job tossing candy instead of throwing it and the basket...

45

I feel spoiled. My parents and our whole family around a dinner table was perfection. Hubby provided roses & a grilled steak, roasted potatoes, and fresh salad dinner complete with chocolate cake (decorated by Michelle).  My mom and dad bought me sweet and thoughtful gifts (including a mug Natalie had painted when my mom took her to Crackpots this summer) and even stayed to watch K Pop Demon Hunters in the basement. We thought it would be hilarious to watch them watch something so different from their favorite shows. They did not disappoint. It was a joyful evening that made me feel much better about turning 45 than I felt earlier in the day.  Below you’ll find what I had written before we celebrated.  Photo credit goes to Kate! 10 Years Ago I filled out interview questions for my 35th birthday and 5 years ago I did the same, adding 5 more questions.  I really don't think I should add 5 more every year because this is probably already too much information for an...

Adventures Begin

Michelle had been saving her money for years. She didn’t know exactly what for, but it turns out she used that money to travel with a group from her high school to Asia!  When people asked me at the end of the school year what I was excited for this summer, the first thing I would think of is Michelle’s trip to Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam!  We loved getting texts and photos almost everyday and were able to FaceTime her a couple times.  She had quite the range of experiences from museums and treasures such as Angkor War to cooking classes and time on the water to learning how to fold flowers for offerings at famous Buddhas, and even hanging out with rats that sniff out landmines to be properly disposed of.  We are absolutely thrilled for her! While Michelle was in Asia, Hubby and Kate worked and Kate hung out with friends doing things like paddle boarding (it is great to hear her work stories!), Natalie and I watched the Women’s College World Series when we weren’...
