Last year on 11/11/11 we had a Polish party with my parents b/c it was Polish Independence Day. (Dan lived in Poland for 2 years.) It was around then I had the idea to throw a Doctor Who party for 12/12/12. I knew the E. family & W. family were huge fans and then we found out the R. family was too! Here are the invitations, in case any of you are Whovians too.

Don't you love my "hurry and take the picture before my children run in again" look? lol. My friends truly made the party. We made Adipose babies out of marshmallows, but Karen & Louis made custard (it's a BBC show), Donna & Travis brought yummy buffalo wings (from the Titanic episode), and Cassandra brought a sonic screwdriver (OJ + 7up). We watched the season 6 Christmas special (the one after The Wedding of River Song), which I had been saving to see at the party and chatted about favorite characters, etc. I'm glad we were able to have this party b/c there won't be another date like 12/12/12 in our lifetime.
In bigger, even more exciting news, Dan and I bought a piece of dirt!
Here are our little cuties on the plot of land we purchased on 15 December 2012. There will be a new sub-development going in west of where we live and we were the first ones to jump in. Two years ago we began looking for a 4 bedroom house but couldn't find anything to make us move, so we finished off our basement instead, thinking someday we could turn it into a bedroom when the children were older. Well, with the anticipated arrival of miracle surprise baby #4 (so excited!), and with her being a girl, the house hunt began again b/c none of our children are old enough to go in the basement yet and won't be for years. We discovered building might be the only way to get what we really wanted and Dan said we should just wait until this particular sub-development got started and I agreed. Lo and behold, Dan saw the sign go up and we will be building a new home a couple years before we anticipated. We love the floor plan -- it's genius. Many of the homes we saw just had wasted space for show and too many useless upgrades. This one is smart with a maximum use of space to allow you to have a smaller home that feels like it is huge and you choose the upgrades. We simply fell in love with the model already built in another town. The idea is for Kaelah & Danny to have their own rooms and for the 2 younger girls to share someday. They are so excited. Kaelah says she wants a rainbow room, Danny says he wants a Transformers room, and Michelle says she wants a Rapunzel room. Even though it will be hard to leave our church congregation behind and go to another building, we hope to move in before Kaelah begins kindergarten in the fall. And since I'll have a dinning room I hope to invite people over more often than I do now. We'll see if I still say that when I'm a mother of 4. And the dog. Don't forget the dog. She causes me as much or more trouble than being pregnant does, but we adore her. She's a great dog and we couldn't ask for a better one.
And we have another big change coming our way, but I can't tell you about it yet. Merry Christmas!
