Kaelah loves her cousins! They introduced her to some neat things this August, like how to ride a 16" 2-wheeler with training wheels, and the wonderful world of Disney princesses & Barbies. Our play & the books we read are completely different then they were 2 months ago. Luckily I had some Barbie stuff left over from when I was a child in the garage & Kaelah scored a 6-princess Disney book at the garage sale we went to last Saturday for free. She was so happy she even thanked God for it during Grace yesterday. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
We drove to Grand Teton National Park to meet up with some of Dan's family & go camping there. I was pretty excited to go somewhere I had never been before but anxious as to how the children would handle such a long camping trip. I have to admit going camping is way more fun BEFORE you have 3 children ages 4 & under but it was nice to have family to share the campsite with. Dan's family can cook better while camping than I can in my own kitchen! We did have to wuss out of the tent camping, though. After 2 nights of below freezing temperatures, I couldn't take my little ones crying when they got out of their tents in the morning any longer. So, we spent the 2nd 2 nights in Colter Bay's "tent city," a place where you camp in a half canvas/half cabin with a wood burning stove for heat, an electric light, & bunk beds. It was terrific! I would highly recommend doing that, especially if you have small children. I would also highly recommend saving your pennies so you can eat at the restaurant buffet for breakfast once in a while so you can head out on adventures a whole lot sooner in the day. My, I'm opinionated tonight.
For activities, Danny & Michelle talked about the ferry over & over again and the horse ride too. Since watching Tangled, Danny keeps telling me he wants to ride Maximus next time. I love that boy! I was most impressed with Kaelah's ability to hike the entire way up to Inspiration Point. Lots of strangers were impressed too! Kaelah is one amazing & determined little girl. I am continually reminded she can do anything she puts her mind to. Michelle's verbal ability continued to amaze us while we were there. I wish someone could follow her around for me & write down all the words she knows. And take some pictures & videos while they are at it. Any volunteers? It is her half birthday tomorrow!
