Please keep in mind as you listen to the music in the video that we live in a bright yellow house.
For Kaelah's half birthday (exactly one week ago) she got to go to the doctor and get a shot in each arm. Do we know how to party or what? This is her second visit to our new pediatrician and once again the environment and Dr. Roy and Melissa have certainly made our lives easier. It's a one doctor, one nurse little office that is created and decorated to look like a home. Kaelah loves the rooms and even crawled up the exam table becuase it's made into a car with stairs to climb. Only one child is seen every hour so there is plenty of room to find out all the doctor and you need or want to know.
Kaelah weighs 25.2 pounds (65%), is now 33.5" tall (94%), and her head is still above all the lines on the charts. It's interesting to know if we lined 100 18-month-olds up Kaelah would have the 2nd largest head. Perhaps that is why she has learned so many words in the last couple weeks? (; Her latest kick is anything that has to do with zoo animals and we're already planning a trip to the zoo as soon as the weather warms up again. Her favorite book is a Little People Visit the Zoo book my dad checked out for her at the public library. There are just so many flaps to lift and animal sounds to make!!! Other than that, Kaelah is exactly what an 18-month-old is meant to be (according to What to Expect the Toddler Years), right down to fighting getting her hair washed, refusing to walk by only wanting carried, and knowing exactly what she wants and immediately! But she is an absolute joy and is simply growing up too fast. Lately it has been fun to watch her and Danny's new tradition of coloring before bedtime. (Dan has quite a talent with colored pencils!) Kaelah has been very interested in shapes lately, so whenever she sees a ball or a circle or a spot or a speckle she gets excited and says either "ball!" or "bubble(s)!" It's very cute! Her second favorite shape is the star & then she'll say, "oooo" as though to say, "wow, there's another star." Kaelah aslo enjoys counting objects in books with fake numbers and is learning her colors. For instance, when given a choice, she will agree to wear her blue pajamas. With every passing month that goes by I say to myself, someday I am going to miss my, for example, 18-month-old someday! We feel so lucky and blessed to have Kaelah in our home!!!

Sarah, I am just SO glad you are a mommy! It is like watching Michael Jordan play basketball. You and motherhood were meant to be.
