I am a Bainbridge. And at least for the past two generations, that means I have a tendency to overcook whatever I am making or baking. It's due to things like this: I get dinner started, set the timer, & know I have 10 minutes to do something else. Imagine me playing with Kaelah in the family room. I realize that, once again, I have not heard the *beep *beep *beep I should have by now. I sprint up to the kitchen to turn over the pork chops. Soon the distinct sound of a child's knees hitting the wood floor reach my ears. I turn to see that yes, somehow, Kaelah followed me up the stairs... silently. After about 24 hours of her proving to me that she could really climb the stairs, I decided to get out the camera. The dog adds a nice little bit of suspense, doesn't she? (:
The tail end of summer has been so much fun. The weather has been fantastic and we've all had special occasions to look forward to. First up, a family party for Natalie's softball team that included pizza, whiffle ball, and seeing the girls just have a good time together as a team. Here's my favorite photo from when Michelle helped her friend, A, celebrate her 16th birthday. Although she has been friends with A & Z since her time at the Waldorf school, Michelle ended up hanging out with a lot of strangers and had a wonderful time. I love seeing her branch out and make new connections while maintaining her core friend group. Homecoming week included a BBQ, Powder Puff game and drone show, parade past the middle school where I was volunteering at the Rattler Run, plus a very exciting football game that even Hubby attended by being one of the basketball parents to man the concession stand. Danny did a great job tossing candy instead of throwing it and the basket...
