18 & Memphis

The time has come!  Our first baby is a legal adult!  Sometimes I wonder where the time went.  I pulled out the baby scrapbook that my mother, Shannon, and I had made her.  To see little baby K was such a trip.  We were all very different people then.  So many memories.  I am grateful to these girls who helped her celebrate her special day.  I love all of them.  Kate requested a catered Chick Fil A meal after they went to the lake together and before they watched a movie in the basement.  Hubby and I were more than happy to oblige.  My favorite part was overhearing them laugh together.  We built this house with children in mind and now those children are turning into grown ups.  Here's to being old enough to vote and beginning her senior year next month! Kate actually celebrated early because Hubby and I joined Danny in Memphis for his last out of state tournament.  We had never been to Tennessee before and it was the...

Independence

Our 4th of July celebrations included enjoying the LSO performance at the park where Michelle got to join in on the  Tchaikovsky's  1812 Overture , complete with cannons.  How do you add "played with cannons" to your high school resume?  So glad Hubby brought the Sunbrella because it went from hot to rainy to hot again and we were glad to have the shade & precipitation protection. That night we got to eat a potluck dinner and set off fireworks with the neighbors.  Danny and Michelle and even Natalie were game to set them off to the point I got teased that my children must all be afraid of fire.  lol. It was great to get together with neighbors that we have known since the children were little.  We are fortunate to live in such a great place. On July 5th we saw a very different kind of fireworks show after the Rockies game.  Hubby knows how to buy tickets that ensure we get brought down onto the field and that view from the grass is amazing. ...

Believe it or not my son was playing more basketball!  This time his school team participated in a tournament through the CU camp. I love that campus and the venues he got to play in. 🏀  Guess who loves the dog park again after all this time? We have lots of different paths to go on walks near our home but Maisie has chosen to hang out at the local dog park a couple mornings recently. But I still don’t trust her around other dogs so we only go if no one else is there. 😆  When was the last time all 6 of us when to the movies together?  Maybe before Covid?  But How to Train Your Dragon got us all the theater and it was so good!  Thank you, DreamWorks and Universal, for staying true to the story we adore and helping us make new memories. ♥️  Guess who went to her first ever sleep away camp!  We signed Natalie up for the Avid 4 Adventure all girls multi sport camp in Steamboat Springs and she had such a great time.  She received the “Most Likel...

Adventures Begin

Michelle had been saving her money for years. She didn’t know exactly what for, but it turns out she used that money to travel with a group from her high school to Asia!  When people asked me at the end of the school year what I was excited for this summer, the first thing I would think of is Michelle’s trip to Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam!  We loved getting texts and photos almost everyday and were able to FaceTime her a couple times.  She had quite the range of experiences from museums and treasures such as Angkor War to cooking classes and time on the water to learning how to fold flowers for offerings at famous Buddhas, and even hanging out with rats that sniff out landmines to be properly disposed of.  We are absolutely thrilled for her! While Michelle was in Asia, Hubby and Kate worked and Kate hung out with friends doing things like paddle boarding (it is great to hear her work stories!), Natalie and I watched the Women’s College World Series when we weren’...
