Best Way To Turn 13

They say, “Third Time is a Charm.”  Well, I think I’ve found the best way to celebrate becoming a teenager: escape the snow and spend the week at Universal Orlando Resort! We flew in Michelle’s last night of being a tween and instantly appreciated our hotel’s location. It was an easy walk to try out Bread Box and the place did not disappoint.  The weather was chilly (and would be the next day as well) but we saw signs that spring had already sprung in Florida. Not much sleep was had due to excitement and time zones but we were all up and ready to explore Diagon Alley before the park opened. Michelle’s birthday saw members of our group enjoy (not in order): the show at Ollivander’s, ride Gringotts, eat brunch at the Leaky Cauldron, ride Men in Black twice in a row, try out Large Lad Donuts (the big pink one of course), laugh at Fast & Furious Supercharged, laugh way too hard at Horror Make Up Show, run into characters in Hollywood, ride ET and take pictures at the gift shop...

Waiting for Spring

20 years.  It has been 20 years since I came home from Taiwan.  I have so many scrapbook pages and thoughts I could post.  Yet what I ended up saying on social media was, "It all comes down to love."  It does.  Love is what sent me there, love is what kept me going, and love is what brought me home.  I will always be grateful for the time I got to experience there and will always love the people I met, even if it has been two decades and somehow I have never made it back to visit.  Funny how you can care on the inside but not show it on the outside.  Or is that just me?   Exactly two weeks after Danny injured his ankle he got to go to the physical therapist and experience dry needling for the first time. Looks crazy but his ankle is healing much faster than expected and Danny only has to wear his boot for things like PE. No running yet but walking only needs a neoprene sleeve now. Danny was very happy to hear that news and we went straight to...

February Done & March Begun

The last Saturday of February we got to celebrate Maisie’s 4th birthday with cupcakes for the humans, a rawhide for her, and a nice long dog walk with Hubby and I.  It’s hard to believe she has been a part of our family for so long because in many ways she still seems like a puppy. Hubby and I were able to squeeze in another date, this time brunch at First Watch.  It is so great to be able to spend time with this wonderful man! Michelle finally got to go ice skating this winter!  We lucked out with the weather and it was even free because we were able to go the night of the post adoption support group party.  Lucky us!  Pro tip:  wear two pairs of socks.  Makes the rental skates so much more comfortable!  Danny was uninvited due to spraining his ankle while playing basketball at the rec center with his friend J.  The orthopedic couldn’t tell if it was a minor fracture or a severe strain but either way he is supposed to wear a boot for the nex...
