Easter & Beyond

The birthday parties continued with N attending AB’s party complete with a trip to Get Air.  These girls have had a lot of fun together over the past month! Easter morning finally came on April 20th this year. Here is a picture Natalie took of us when we got home from the special Sacrament meeting. Since our children aren’t huge fans of ham, we opted for fish this year and used a recipe from our copycat cookbook for salmon that turned out well with the Stealhead from Costco.  The entire meal was delicious and I was grateful to have our entire family plus my mom together even though my Dad wasn’t feeling well. We opted for the bunny rabbit cake pan for our cake this year instead of the demented sheep. Lol And I got Danny (Kate declined) to participate in the egg hunt by letting him know there was a $20 bill up for grabs and he got it! The weather has been close to perfect this spring. Just in time because also happening Easter weekend was the beginning of kennel training Maisie...

🏀 , 🎾 , 🥎 and parties!

I got to go to Danny’s 1st competitive basketball games of the season. He asked that I go and try to get some good photos and videos. He thought that was wonderful — and it turns out he played professionally in Europe for years before he hurt his knee — so I felt very validated.  That first game was an easy win but the second game was intense. They were tied 53-53 when they went into overtime and lost by 4.  So close. The last game didn’t start until 9pm and I was wondering how awake I would be when it was time to go home. I shouldn't have worried becau...

Grantasmic

When your little cousin who adores you is going to celebrate his 4th birthday at Disneyland, you break the bank and spend all your savings to go with him.  At least that is what Natalie did.  She paid her own 3 day park ticket with lightning lanes, half our hotel room and Lyft rides, and her $12 airplanes ticket (using my Southwest points).  Of course we weren’t going to send her from here alone so my wonderful part time partner in crime switched a day of work with me so I could go too and still get my weekly hours in. Our plane landed a few hours before the rest of the family would arrive and since it was so close to Natalie’s birthday too, I reserved brunch at Goofy’s Kitchen for her.  Definitely a great way to eat lots of food and meet characters so you don’t feel like you have to do that in the parks later. We explored Downtown Disney and she picked out what she wanted her one souvenir to be, a cute Winnie the Pooh baseball cap. There is definitely a trendy mom d...
