A Break in Spring

Hubby had to work the rest of spring break so the children and I had a week at home with no school and dad gone during the day.  M went to horse camp 2 days and had play dates with S. and D.  K went to the dentist and had a couple play dates with J. and got to see Beauty and the Beast in the theater with Mom & Grandma.  She really liked it!   D went to indoor soccer twice & Pokemon and Star Wars morning camps at the local gym and worked on Cub Scout stuff with Grandma.  N got us invited to another wonderful park for a play date -- Niwot Children's Park & we highly recommend it!  We also rented Moana from Redbox Monday night and loved it -- we listened to the soundtrack all spring break.  I should have brought the selfie stick to the movie theater.  lol.  N was thrilled to go shopping in the basement for new clothes and shoes.  She especially likes the idea of matching her baby doll. While D and N and I wen...

Great Wolf Lodge & Garden of the Gods

Dropping off our HTH cookies turned out to be harder than I thought! Last year we donated to the Inn Between but when I called to set up a time my troop could donate the cookies, they said they already had too many to store in their pantry and hr OUR Center probably did too. The woman I spoke to suggested finding a church pantry to donate to and, as luck would have it, our church was having a Bishop's Storehouse delivery the very next morning at 8am. The cookie mom couldn't come with us, so M and D and I were in the car at 7:30am driving up to the stake center. It was a great experience to add treats to what the families in need could bring home and help unload the truck and sort out the food onto tables. We left feeling joyful and I'm grateful we could go.  We can cross Great Wolf Lodge off our bucket list! When I learned Hubby couldn't take spring break off work to go on a trip, I had to find something close but different. An indoor water park seemed perfect...

St. Pat's & Birthdays

St. Patrick's Day had the children pretty excited. Not only was there the prospect of leprechauns breaking into your house, but D and M were also having a field trip to see the middle school's performance of The Wizard of Oz. Knowing half my children were going to be there, I asked my mom to babysit N while I went along (officially with the 1st graders). It was so fun to walk with the children all wearing green from their school to the one they will probably go to next (and back). The weather was gorgeous and I was very impressed with what a good job the 6th-8th graders did! As a side note, turns out green milk makes my 3-year-old cry  for days. Whoops.  This year M planned her own birthday party and handed out the invitations. She chose a dance theme and was so excited we bought a disco ball to out in the play room. We've never had so many children and so many boys at a party or a party in the evening. It was crazy!!! M couldn't have been happier. Her friends re...
