Little girl artists

I thought Michelle's use of eye liner was quite unique. And I can't help but be mega proud of my barely 4-year-old drawing a garbage truck for her brother so well & a person riding a unicycle... especially in sidewalk chalk. Way to go, Kaelah! I also adore those smiles these sisters get when they are drawing nicely together. Kaelah sure does love having a little sister! P.S. Here's a dragon Kaelah drew on the porch. (Pic. taken 10/11/11)

Dolls

We've really been into dolls at our house lately! Barbie dolls have been a huge hit for the older 2: girls for K & boys for D, including homes to correspond we made out of boxes & pictures from online. I hope the fact he only plays with the boy ones & in a house that only has blue rooms means this won't be black mail later! Michelle likes to nurse a CPK from when I was little. It cracks me up. (: Kaelah also found out it is mega fun to cut a Barbie's hair! I bet you can guess which pictures came from that.

Some firsts

Danny learned how to climb out of his crib about the same time Michelle began speaking in full sentences. So, we immediately moved him to a toddler bed. He had a hard time sleeping through the night & ended up in Kaelah's room for a couple weeks. Notice where Kaelah's foot is? He didn't mind. lol. He seems to be okay & back in his own room now. Kaelah really liked having him there until he started waking her up first thing every morning instead of Mom & Dad. (; Anther first was that Danny fell into the rose bushes. It was so sad but when he saw I got out the camera he smiled like there was nothing in the world going on. That neosporin that has pain killer in it seems to work really really well! The picture of the children in front of the van is before we dropped Kaelah off at her first day of preschool this year. She's doubling her mornings there from 1 day a week to 2. Her teacher, Miss Stacie, has already told me Kaelah is much more outgoing...

The basement is finished!

I've had so many people ask me about the basement I decided to take & post lots of pictures. Hopefully they will speak for themselves. I just have 2 notes: soooo very glad we could hire a magnificent contractor. Also, my husband is a genius. When the wall to the mechanical room & bathroom went in, we couldn't fit our sofa & old tv in the room anymore. We thought about buying a flat screen, but to hang it on the wall the sofa wouldn't fit right because of the support beam. So, we now own a projector & a huge screen that comes out of the ceiling. Watching something on Blu Ray is amazing! You should have seen me watching Tron Legacy on that thing. Well, I have to admit Tangled looked great too. (It's the children's new favorite movie.) And this solution was great b/c it cost the same amount as the flat screen TV I was amazed by at the store. Thank goodness I married a problem solver. This brings our square footage up to 2,000 & we're...

CO Railroad Museum

Before our camping trip we had to move everything from off the wood floors in our home since they were being refinished while we were out of town. We decided the easiest way to accomplish such a task was to get the children out of the house for the day. My dad willingly helped me take them to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. There they got to explore real trains, watch model trains, & ride a Galloping Goose. Michelle was happy just to be with her family, but Danny & Michelle informed me they want to ride a "real" train next time. Oh, well. At least Dan, with the help of our neighbor, Darrel, got the house all ready while we were gone. (:

Camping with cousins

Kaelah loves her cousins! They introduced her to some neat things this August, like how to ride a 16" 2-wheeler with training wheels, and the wonderful world of Disney princesses & Barbies. Our play & the books we read are completely different then they were 2 months ago. Luckily I had some Barbie stuff left over from when I was a child in the garage & Kaelah scored a 6-princess Disney book at the garage sale we went to last Saturday for free. She was so happy she even thanked God for it during Grace yesterday. But I'm getting ahead of myself. We drove to Grand Teton National Park to meet up with some of Dan's family & go camping there. I was pretty excited to go somewhere I had never been before but anxious as to how the children would handle such a long camping trip. I have to admit going camping is way more fun BEFORE you have 3 children ages 4 & under but it was nice to have family to share the campsite with. Dan's family can cook bett...
