Big Boy

Where have the last 3 months gone? Time flies when you're mega busy, right? Danny has the amazing ability to sit up or stand up when propped up against something. (Don't worry, there were some manly arms waiting to catch him if he slipped while I was taking the picture.) I will not be surprised if Danny is sitting up all by himself within the next month or two. Danny chilling in a patio chair while Kaelah was drawing with sidewalk chalk in our backyard. Danny is such a smiley joy to be around!!! He's just the easiest little guy in the whole world to get along with. I'm so appreciative of his patience a good nature, especially when his older sister is having a 2-year-old moment. Daddy is really good at making him laugh. One night he had Danny laughing for so long that he fussed for a second & immediately fell asleep he was so worn out. Ha ha ha. Danny is also getting stronger every day. He enjoys the jungle gym my mom bought a couple years ago & has ev...

Growing Girl

Sometimes I look at Kaelah & ask, "when did you grow up?" She's asking for play dates: And cheering on the "tooters" with Daddy (aka Cougars): And wearing her hair in a pony tail: And procrastinating at bedtime like a real pro now. Sometimes she'll even stay awake in bed until 10pm! Nap time, you ask? Yeah, she only sleeps every other day. Can that be my excuse for why it's taken me weeks to finish this blog post? (; In other milestones since coming home from Utah, she finally got to have her 2 yr. check-up. She adores our new pediatrician, who she got to meet at Danny's 2 mo. check-up earlier in Aug. Kaelah weighed 30 pounds 2 oz. & was 36" tall at age 25 months. Hello! I KNEW she was getting too heavy to carry, but I can't quite tell her 'no' when she says, "up please" in the most polite little voice. Dan is trying to get her used to riding on his shoulders when we are out in about together, but it wil...

Nostalgia Day & Pie Making

We adore Niwot. On the 12th our family & Shannon went to the Nostalgia Day & enjoyed the parade, puppet show put on by Shepherd Valley, & yummy Lefty's Pizza -- the Greek Goddess kind. This was the first time many of my SVWS friends had met Danny, so he kind of stole the show. (: His wardrobe provided by Sharah, Imelda, & Jennifer C. Enjoying "Aunt Shanny" in Danny's room. Shannon did Kaelah's hair with the spray gel we bought recently. She reminded me of a ladybug. On Sunday we tried our hand at making homemade cherry pie. We had a wonderful time & it was a joyous occasion. The pie didn't turn out very delicious, but it was still well worth it. I feel so blessed to enjoy spending time with my family! And Kaelah has turned into a fantastic helper in the kitchen. She's growing up so fast.

29 & Camping

The day before my birthday was the last day we spent in Utah. I think the entire family can say we're lucky Jill can make such delicious cake to eat! Kaelah, just like on my last b-day, insisted on being held during the singing. Maybe she thinks we've lost our marbles & wants comfort when we do that. lol. The next morning we left for CO & stopped to camp in Glenwood Springs. And thank goodness we didn't try to make it all the way home. Danny is still sick of his car seat weeks later. Here's a view of where our campsite was. Couldn't get much closer to the river -- or the train tracks on the other side. Funny how they didn't mention that you might get woken up 6 times on the website. But hey, I got to eat S'mores on my birthday! And there was built-in entertainment! And the kids slept through it all & had a wonderful time! I love my camping-loving family!

Family & Friends

You know what it takes to get us to go to Utah? A wedding! Dan's youngest brother got married on August 21st... the youngest & last to go! We haven't seen Dan's parents & his sister Shelley's family since Christmas, so it was a double blessing to be there. (Some of you might remember Dan's parents are serving a mission in Argentina, so we won't see them again for about a year.) And I have to say I simply adore Dan's aunts! Whitney's bridal shower & talking to his extended family at the reception was my favorite part of the trip. No offense to the guys. (; Speaking of the reception, Keri took my favorite pictures of the entire trip there: Ha ha ha. Kaelah wasn't ready to ham it up for the camera to get a cute shot of the cousins born within 2 months of each other. My mom asked her if she was the thorn between 2 roses. lol. Below Ali joined them -- the 4 of them were born within almost a year of each other. Since I didn't ha...
